Last year the School Council ran events for Parents and the Community to inspire, connect, share and learn from. We will continue to screening films and providing parent talks and discussions on pertinent topics. The dates for these events will appear below. Please mark them in your diary and share these with your friends and local community - all are welcome to share the learnings together

"Anxiety and depression - the science of feeling better, on a budget"

Where? In The Library at Briar Hill Primary School
How to calm your mind, and live more freely, using gut science and better breathing.
This presentation will share with families the science of how a healthy gut, and dedicated breathing techniques, enhance on our mental processing, thought formulation, and behavioural development.
Further, we touch on the science of how the gut and breath impacts upon immune and cardiovascular system.

We are thrilled to have Jason O’Brien present at the next round of Parent and Community talks” on August 27th 2019 @ 7.30pm.
Jason is a psychologist who has worked in community, clinical, educational, corporate and forensic settings for the past twenty years. He is a parent and community member at Briar Hill Primary. Jason’s talk will aim to help parents understand the psychological impacts of screens on young people.
